History:
The Red Scapular was revealed by Jesus to Sister Apolline Andriveau, a Daughter of Charity, in 1846. It is a sign of devotion to the Passion of Christ.
Promises and Benefits:
The wearer of the Red Scapular is promised an increase in faith, hope, and charity, as well as the grace to persevere in the state of grace until death.
Rules/Obligations:
The Red Scapular should be worn with reverence and devotion to the Passion of Christ. Prayers and acts of devotion in honor of Christ's Passion are encouraged.
