Brown Scapular

History:
The Brown Scapular was given by Our Lady to St. Simon Stock in 1251 with the promise that those who die wearing it will not suffer eternal fire.

The main promise of the Brown Scapular is Mary's protection at the time of death, ensuring the wearer does not suffer eternal damnation. It also brings special graces to the wearer during their life.

Rules/Obligations:
To benefit from the promises of the Brown Scapular, one must live a life of prayer and devotion, particularly to Mary, and observe the requirements of the Carmelite Order or the Confraternity of the Scapular.

Rite of Blessing and Enrollment with the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Wear the scapular faithfully and live a life devoted to Mary. Say the Rosary daily if possible.
